Described by some as the finest beach on the East Coast this 15 km stretch of beach extends from Uppuveli which is 15 km from Trinkomalee to Nilaveli which is 15 km away.



Close to Galle, is a beach resort popular with tourists as well as local travellers. It provides the beach facility Galle lacks. Hotels, gust houses, and restaurants line the beach road amid lush green vegetation.
